Before you contact LayZrepair
If you are looking for details on prices and how the repair service works? Please see this page here for repair and service prices and what to do next to get your machine to me for a repair.
Yes. LayZRepair repairs most makes and models of inflatable hot tubs, including Lay-Z-Spa, MSpa, CleverSpa, CosySpa and others.
A standard service will resolve most common error codes and water-leak issues, including flow and heating-related faults.
Service prices start from £59 for air-jet machines and £89 for larger hydro-jet machines for a full service, plus shipping.
If replacement parts are required, your machine will be inspected first, and you will be contacted with a clear repair quote before any work is carried out.
In most cases, repairing your hot tub is far more cost-effective than replacing it, and helps extend the life of the unit.
To get started, simply book a collection here, and we’ll take care of the rest. Drop-offs in Doncaster are also available by appointment.
Home service kits are also available from the website, these come with installation videos and a cheaper alternative to a repair service.
At present, we are not accepting CleverSpa repairs due to ongoing build-quality issues with these units.
Regarding the HL (High Limit) error, there are several possible causes depending on how the fault presents:
HL displayed constantly from power-up
This usually indicates a faulty temperature probe.Temperature rises very quickly before the HL error appears
This often points to poor water flow, typically caused by a worn impeller or failing water pump, leading to overheating.Main pool overheats
In some cases, the issue may be linked to the control panel or main control board.Loss of power
If pressing the RCD test button does not click, the breaker will require replacement.
If the RCD clicks but there is still no power, this may indicate a faulty transformer.
Some replacement parts may be available separately, depending on the fault.
Please note: diagnosis without inspection is provided for guidance only.
I have some cleverspa parts available here
Repair times can vary depending on the time of year and the type of fault.
Outside peak season, most repairs are completed quickly once received.
During summer (peak season), repairs typically take 5–10 working days from inspection, depending on workload and parts availability.
Priority Repair Service
If you need your hot tub repaired urgently, we offer a priority repair option.
After purchasing your collection service, a priority label will be emailed to you
Attach this label clearly to your package before sending
Priority requests are actioned where possible, but cannot be guaranteed during extremely busy periods
In most cases, an E02 error is caused by restricted water flow, which is commonly resolved with a full heater pump service.
A standard service will:
Strip and inspect the heater pump unit
Clean internal chambers
Replace worn seals
Inspect and test the impeller and shaft
Check the flow switch assembly
Pressure test before return
💷 Service prices:
From £59 for AirJet machines
From £89 for larger HydroJet machines
Plus return shipping
If additional parts are required (such as an impeller, flow paddle, heater core or sensor), your unit will be fully inspected first and you will be contacted with a clear repair quote before any extra work is carried out.
There are no surprise charges.
In most cases, repairing your heater pump unit is significantly more cost-effective than replacing the entire machine — and you’ll receive back a fully serviced, tested and working unit.
To get started, simply book a collection and we’ll take care of the rest.
Yes.
It is the customer’s responsibility to package the heater pump unit securely before collection.
The outer plastic casing of these machines can crack if they are not properly protected during transit. Transit damage caused by poor packaging may increase repair costs.
📦 How to package your machine correctly:
The unit must be fully cushioned on all sides, including underneath.
Use:
Carrier bags filled with scrunched paper
Small boxes packed tightly with paper
Lightweight foam
Lightweight cushions
Your machine must not be able to move inside the box.
❌ Do NOT use:
Thin bubble wrap on its own
Heavy blankets
Loose packaging
Oversized boxes with empty space
Thin bubble wrap alone does not provide adequate impact protection.
Heavy blankets add weight but do not absorb shock effectively.
📏 Box Size Guidance
Maximum box size: 65cm
The box should be tight enough to prevent movement
Leave sufficient space for proper cushioning
Cut the box down to size if required
Please refer to the packaging example images in the Book a Repair section of the website.
🔧 Need extra protection?
Inflatable protective tubes are available to purchase from our online store. These provide additional shock absorption during transit and help reduce the risk of cracked outer casings.
If your Lay-Z-Spa is only producing bubbles on one side, the most common cause is a failed non-return valve (NRV) inside the liner.
What’s happening?
Your air system works by pushing air evenly around the ring inside the spa wall. Each section is separated by small non-return valves.
When one of these valves sticks or fails:
Air flow becomes restricted
Bubbles stop past that point
You’ll only see bubbles working halfway around
In some cases, water can also begin backing up into the air channel — which is something you want to prevent.
How do I fix it?
✔ Step 1 – Fit an Easy-Fit Non-Return Valve
Install an easy-fit non-return valve to prevent water entering the air system. This protects your heater pump and stops internal water damage.
✔ Step 2 – Locate the failed internal valve
Look inside the liner where the air channel runs. The failed valve is usually the point where bubbles stop.
✔ Step 3 – Gently massage the area
With the spa inflated, gently massage the section where airflow stops. This can free up the stuck internal flap and restore airflow.
Often, once freed, the bubbles will return evenly around the entire spa.
When should I replace the liner?
If one valve has failed, others may be brittle or weakened. If the issue keeps returning, the liner may need replacing or professionally repairing.
If you’re unsure where the blockage is, send us a photo or short video and we’ll point you in the right direction 👌
If air is escaping from one of the HydroJet massage jets on your liner, the first step is to identify exactly which jet is leaking.
Once located, carefully remove the massage jet fitting from the liner and inspect the pipe connection behind it. On pre-2023 models, the small internal pipes can sometimes become brittle over time. If this is the case, the pipe may have come loose or cracked.
If accessible, you may be able to reattach or repair the pipe connection behind the jet before reinstalling the jet fitting back into the liner.
If all massage jets and pipe connections appear intact, the issue may be deeper inside the liner’s internal pipework. In this situation, the liner would need to be carefully cut open to access the internal channels.
Unfortunately, this is not a repair that Lay-Z-Repair undertake. The internal air and water channels inside HydroJet liners are heat-welded during manufacturing and are not designed to be accessed or repaired easily.
If you choose to investigate the problem yourself, we can supply bespoke repair patches and professional-grade adhesive to reseal the liner after inspection.
If you are unsure whether the problem is related to the jet fitting, external seals, or internal pipework, feel free to send us photos and we will advise where possible.
